FAA Form 7460-1 - Notice of Proposed Constructions or Alteration

Notice to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) may be required for a new structure, altered structure, or an existing structure based in part on FAA requirements and shall be reported on FAA Form 7460-1 (Notice of Proposed Construction or Alteration).

FAA Further Study, Public Notice, and Circularized Cases

Circularization in the aeronautical study process occurs after the sponsor of a proposed structure files Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)  Form 7460-1, Notice of Proposed Construction or Alteration, when it is shown that the structure would exceed obstruction standards, require a change in an aeronautical operation or procedure or have an effect on an airport or VFR air traffic.

FAA Form 7460-2 Part 1 and 2

FAA Form 7460-2 Part 1 is required at least 10 days prior to the start of construction.

FAA Form 7460-2 Part 2 is required within 5 days after the construction reaches its greatest height.

FAA Notice Criteria / Reporting Requirements

Reporting to the FAA via Form 7460-1 is based on a number of factors including the ground elevation, proposed height, distance from a protected airport/heliport, and omitting frequency of a structure.
